Springtime IntheNOLA with Sarah Elizabeth Dewey: Great food, weather, and music!

Written by
Educator Danielle Morris and Story Block Media’s Deepak Saini have given us their favorite springtime things in the last two weeks.
This week, Sarah Elizabeth Dewey, co-founder of local clothing line Jolie and Elizabeth (and newly engaged!), is up for the challenge!
Three things that come to mind when mentioning spring to Sarah Elizabeth? Great food…crawfish! Great weather…seersucker season is here! And great music…festivals on festivals!
“There’s just something so magical about living in a southern state during the spring,” said Sarah Elizabeth. “I feel like it’s when we shine the most! I live on Magazine St. and walk, almost daily, to CC’s to grab a coffee. In the spring, when the weather gets warmer, I usually just keep walking, enjoying all the locals and tourists out and about on the weekends, usually ending up with a glass of champagne or a District Donut in my hand!”
She continued, “In my line of work with Jolie and Elizabeth, we specialize in seersucker, so springtime is our main event. There is no better weather than weather that allows you to throw on a seersucker dress everyday! Speaking of dressing up, a few favorite springtime events would be the Kelly Gibson Foundation’s Night of Jazz, Whitney Zoo-To-Do at Audubon Zoo, and of course, Sippin’ in Seersucker benefitting the Ogden Museum of Southern Art!”
With Sarah Elizabeth’s recent engagement, she’s looking forward to the all the love that shows itself during the spring. “Love is definitely in the air this spring,” she smiled. “I’m looking forward to getting wedding inspiration from all the beautiful New Orleans 2016 brides and I'm hoping to catch a few brides and grooms second-lining around town in some gorgeous weather these next few months!”

Here are some of Sarah Elizabeth's favorites in the spring:

Favorite Festival
Sarah Elizabeth: So. Many. Festivals! I love them all! I will say that I’m particularly looking forward to Jazz Fest this year to check out Motel Radio (a dear friend’s band). It’s so wonderful how Jazz Fest features up and coming bands year after year. I’ll have my crawfish Monica and my crawfish bread (all crawfish everything!) while I’m enjoying the music.
Favorite Snowball
Sarah Elizabeth: Hansen’s cream of nectar 100%.
Favorite Po-Boy
Sarah Elizabeth:  The meatball po-boy from Parkway with extra cheese is this Italian girl’s guilty pleasure.
Favorite Happy Hour
Sarah Elizabeth: I’m all about a bottomless mimosa deal on a Saturday or a Sunday! A few notable favorites are: Salu, Katie’s, and Basin Seafood. I don’t like to play favorites with my happy hours!

Favorite Place to Get Boiled Crawfish
Sarah Elizabeth: Shout out to Corey Rougelot and Lon LeSueur for the best crawfish in town! Seriously, they need to start a catering business...amazing crawfish and they don’t make you swell up! It’s magical!
