Diner en Blanc New Orleans: 2,000 friends, fun, and fireworks!

Written by  IntheNOLA.com
The scene was set: the sweet sounds of Tanya and Dorise laying the soundtrack to a backdrop of violet lights kissing the fountains of Spanish Plaza surrounded by gorgeous tables and 2,000 chic picnic goers fitted festively in white. This is what we witnessed at the third annual, breathtakingly beautiful Diner en Blanc 2015. This year’s Diner en Blanc was not for the faint of heart…at three year’s in, the #DEBexperts did not come to play.

From white candied apples on diamond encrusted sticks and Diner en Blanc 2015 wine glasses to angel wings, hoop skirts, and white wigs, our New Orleanians brought it. We showed up and we showed out. Lawd, can Diner en Blanc get any better than this?!
It’s hard to imagine that just three years ago when the Spears Group first introduced the Diner en Blanc concept, there were many that doubted it could work. In this city, where there are so many free festivals and events, who on earth would pay to bring their own dinner, tables, chairs, decorations, AND set it all up and take it all down?

Oh, let’s count the New Orleanians who thought that was a good idea…800 the first year, 1,600 last year, and 2,000 this year. Certainly ain’t no problems getting people to participate!

Overall, Diner en Blanc 2015 was a gorgeous night under the NOLA stars overlooking the Mississippi River with an amazing line-up of entertainment and a fireworks show that was nothing short of spectacular! This year, hands down, #DeBnola2015 proved beyond a doubt that it is here to stay and what can arguably be a NOLA event to rival.
