After the Fairgrounds lights dimmed last Saturday night, the music continued down on Tchoupitoulas at the inaugural Rock 'n' Hops, a benefit concert for the GRAMMY Foundation's MusiCares.

It was packed and rocking at Nola Brewing, with two stages featuring a rotating line up of bands and acoustic performances, a truckload of savory tacos provided by Taceaux Loceaux, and all the locally brewed Nola Brewing craft beer attendees could drink.

The multi-artist benefit concert was put together by local band The Breton Sound, Bats on Strings, and Nola Brewing. The line up was curated by The Breton Sound as a way to showcase bands they admire while giving back to a charity that assists musicians and helps keep music alive.

Royal Teeth's Gary Larsen & Nora Patterson, Andrew Duhon, Coyotes, Bantam Foxes, Liam Catchings & The Jolly Racket, and The Wooden Wings' Cherie LeJeune graced the stages set across the brewery's floor and grounds. Then The Breton Sound showed off a few new tunes from their latest EP _Maps_ before turning the stage over to Shamarr Allen & The Underdawgs for the final performance of the evening.

Other sponsors who contributed to the evening included Mid City Pizza and Vivid Ink Graphics. MusiCares provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need. MusiCares' services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies, and each case is treated with integrity and confidentiality.

MusiCares also focuses the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare of the music community.
