Recap: Fun for all at this year's Zoo-to-Do Kids

Written by  InthekNOwla.com
With vendors galore and a wide array of activities at the Audubon Institute’s 24th annual Zoo-to-Do for Kids fundraising celebration, there was something for everyone from the moment you walked in. Patrons gathered from near and far to enjoy the event and support the cause of rebuilding the well-known elephant fountain that greets you at the center of the entrance. Sherri Carmouche who traveled to New Orleans from Baton Rouge with her two sons stated, "The activities are what bring me here. I love that there are things for adults and kids to enjoy." Many other attendees shared the same sentiment.

Every year, Audubon Zoo is transformed into a magical play land to benefit children of all ages. Upon entering the gate, people were greeted with all kinds of interesting creatures accompanied by informed volunteers to educate the guests on the furry, feathery, and scaly friends. From hedgehogs, owls, iguanas and ferrets to tarantulas, beetles, millipedes and glow-in-the-light scorpions, there wasn't a species left behind.
In addition, there were five areas of fun, where attendees enjoyed face painting, art contests, games, inflatables galore as well as musical and sport entertainment. Parents were even encouraged to partake in the activities and contests, including hula hoop contest which was loads of fun to witness.

Zoo-to-Do for Kids is definitely an event to attend at least once, even though once is definitely never enough. A first time patron, Nina Bellard, stated, "I love everything about the event, especially the food, and will most likely attend again."

As old saying goes, "They all asked for you," and we respectfully obliged! Zoo-to-Do for Kids was definitely a success and we look forward to next year's event.
