PCI Entertainment’s 2nd Annual New Year’s Eve Party

Written by  InthekNOwla.com

(InthekNOwla) -- Whether you’re ready or not, 2010 is coming to a close and 2011 is fast approaching. So you know what that means, it’s time for a party to send off the old and bring in the new. Well, this year, you might try bringing in the new with PCI Entertainment at their 2nd Annual New Year’s Eve Party at the W Hotel Downtown New Orleans.

PCI Entertainment is a local entertainment company founded by local New Orleanians and good friends Josh Caillavet, Ross Barrios, Wesley Plaisance, Patrick Ohara, Tommy Benge, Jamie Guin, and Ryan Picou. PCI Entertainment specializes in putting together happy hours, theme parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, tailgating parties, bow fishing excursions, and any other kind of event you can think of.

InthekNOwla got to talk with one of the members of PCI Entertainment, Ryan Picou who explained how the company got started. Ryan said, “After Hurricane Katrina, we wanted to do two things. We wanted to help uplift people’s spirits and we also wanted to help build our economy. Since all of us are very social, we thought the easiest and best way to accomplish these two goals would be to start an entertainment company. That way, people could have a great time and in turn, they would spend money in the city, whether it be with artists or venues or whatever. About four years ago, we were at a New Year’s Eve party that just didn’t meet our standards of what a New Orleans New Year’s Eve party should be like, from everything from the food to the bar. We said to ourselves, ‘We can do this better.’ And that was the moment that we decided to get serious about forming the company.”

PCI Entertainment’s signature event is their New Year’s Eve Party. Ryan explained, “Last year was our first annual New Year’s Eve Party and we signed up and joined forces with the W Hotel. The turnout was great and everyone had a blast; around 450 people attended. This year we’re shooting for 600 and we’ve made sure that we have enough space for everyone to be comfortable. Last year, we had a great run with just a band, but this year, we decided to add an additional room where we have enlisted the skills of DJ Rob Nice who is the DJ for the New Orleans Hornets. On top of that, we have also enlisted the services of Dear New Orleans whose concept just embodies what New Orleans means to people. Also, there could be a surprise performance by a local artist that is pretty famous, just to give everybody a little suspense!”

As we were finishing up the interview, Ryan was sure to include the other members of PCI Entertainment. He said, “I’m talking to you today, but I would do an injustice to the other 6 guys if I didn’t mention how hard we all worked at this. We all do it equally and to the best of our abilities. We’re the type of group that has a real understanding of the city so we have the know how to throw any kind of event from bachelor parties to fishing and hunting trips. We can do it all. We’re a one stop shop for your event planning needs. We do all the leg work. We also have an open ear, so if you have an idea for an event we’d love to hear about it.”
