(InthekNOwla) -- "Please don't make me go to work tomorrow...can I take one of my sick days?"
We had a great weekend here InthekNOwla: music, food, fun, gorgeous weather, and even more beautiful people. To start the day, we took the street car down to the French Quarter Fest to celebrate the last day until next year. Like the previous two days, we ate good food, listened to great music, talked with some fabulous people, enjoyed the picture-perfect weather, and started to countdown the days until next year's fest.
We were thoroughly delighted to see The Don "Moose" Jamison Heritage School of Music and their talented young musicians. As we made our way to Jackson Square, we of course had to sit and watch the athleticism and comedy of The Dragon Master Showcase as they showcased their unique blend of acrobatics, break dancing, gymnastics, and non stop laughter for the audience. And the day wouldn't have been complete without marveling at Dancing Man 504 and his unending stamina as he performed with the Kinfolk Brass Band who had people stopping in the sidewalk just to get a little second line in! We're sad the see French Quarter Fest ending, but InthekNOwla knows that next year will be even better!
Before truly ending the weekend, we headed on over to City Park for their annual Spring Garden Show and Domingo Latino inside the Botanical Gardens. While perusing plants of all different names, birdhouses, local produce, and many other things, we danced to the sounds of Ovi-G and The Froggies and Rumba Buena. As if the merengue and salsa weren't enough, we feasted (yes we ate again) on arroz con pollo, empanadas, and washed it all down with some mojitos. Ahhh, life is definitely good!
