Eat, drink, and win big at Longue Vue House and Garden’s ‘Grand Golden Gamble’ September 25

Written by  Longue Vue House & Gardens
Longue Vue House and Gardens invites the community to join a lively casino-cool afternoon inspired by Elvis’s early 70’s Vegas tenure at the third annual Grand Golden Gamble. The event will be held in the beautiful East Lawn gardens of the historic estate at 7 Bamboo Rd. on Sunday, September 25 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

New Orleans own Elvis, Randy “Who Dat King” Bonneval, will narrate the draw-down raffle pulling a ticket every minute and entertaining guests as he breaks out into song and dance and his best Elvis impersonations. The last three names to be drawn will be the lucky winners of a total of $4,000 in gold coins! For those who don’t take home the gold, door prizes will be awarded every 15 minutes.

A selection of tasty eats, bountiful booze and a signature cocktail will refresh guests as they await the next name in anticipation. Limited tickets are available here for $50 per person in advance. They will be $75 at the door, and $100 after the raffle begins. The event is co-chaired by two New Orleans natives and Longue Vue supporters, Emily Strong Dike and Casey Dietz Zainey.

“I fell in love with Longue Vue and the stories of its founders on my first tour of the home” said Dike. “Keeping Edith and Edgar Stern’s spirit of philanthropy inspired me to get involved.”

Funds raised by the Grand Golden Gamble will enable Longue Vue to serve as a center for youth and adult education, offering horticultural, science, preservation, and arts programming inspired by the historic site and founded in the needs of the community.

“There’s no better way to give back than to have fun doing it,” said Longue Vue Executive Director Tony Chaveaux. “The Grand Golden Gamble is sure to be a lovely fall afternoon reminiscent of Elvis’s taste for the good life all on the grounds of one of New Orleans’ most hidden treasures.”

Only 300 tickets are available. Tickets to the event include entry into the gold coin drawing and all food and beverages. For more information, visit www.longuevue.com, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Use the hashtag #GrandGoldenGamble on social media to be a part of the conversation!
