New Orleans Saints player Benjamin Watson and daughter ‘tackle’ braided pigtails for Pantene’s ‘Strong is Beautiful’ campaign

Written by  IntheNOLA.com
There’s no doubt that New Orleans Saints Tight End and NFL Man of the Year Nominee Benjamin Watson is a force to be reckoned with on the football field…now, what about in the ‘hair doing’ field? Well, apparently so. In a new series of videos, four different NFL players can be seen doing their daughters' hair for Pantene's "Strong is Beautiful" campaign.

“In an ongoing commitment to celebrate and enable women’s strength, Pantene has partnered with NFL dads, New Orleans Saints’ Benjamin Watson, Pittsburgh Steelers’ DeAngelo Williams and Dallas Cowboys’ Jason Witten, to help give dads the tools to spend more quality time with their daughters – an act that helps foster confidence and strength in young girls,” the organization said. “Research shows that quality time spent with dads is key in raising daughters who are more self-confident, self-reliant and more successful in school and in their careers.”

In the videos, you can see each player ‘tackling’ a different hairstyle for their young daughters called the #DadDo. Benjamin’s oldest daughter, Grace Watson, sits down in the chair for dad to try out braided pigtails to which she smiles and says, “I’m excited. I’m a little nervous.”

But dad’s ready. “It’s fun to do something new and spend this time with my daughter,” he says. “If you’re a father and you only have so many hours in the day, maybe doing their hair is one of the things that you can do to connect with them to build that relationship.”

Benjamin goes through all the ‘plays’ of making braided pigtails and comes out victorious in the end. “I love it!” Grace exclaims in the video. And just like that, we have the Who Dad-Do!

“Pantene celebrates and empowers women with our message of ‘Strong is Beautiful.’ We know strength and self-esteem start by building confidence in girls at a young age,” said Jodi Allen, Vice President of P&G Hair Care & Color for North America. “We hope our new series of how-to videos shows dads how easy and fun it can be to spend quality time with their daughters by doing their hair. The quality time spent with their daughters now will foster the next generation of strong and beautiful women.”
