Good Dance Since 1984 presents ‘WOEM,’ November 7 and 8

Written by  Good Dance Since 1984
Good Dance Since 1984 presents WOEM, the flashy new work which will open the 2015-2016 dance season on November 7th and 8th at 8pm is nothing short of elegant athleticism. This mysterious new work illuminates the persona of cats. Regal, Egyptian, Feisty, & Fierce...Felines run this world they’re in. WOEM is a strong, athletic, and playful work that will capture your attention and take you into the next dimension, the same way the cats travel. Get your tickets now! This will be a movement that fires energy through the musical scores of violinist Angele Dubeau, the contemporary rhythms of some of today’s hip hop artists, and the original choreography from 2-time Big Easy award-winner Donna Crump.
Director/Choreographer Donna Crump also known as “The Donna” is a native New Orleanian who has studied many forms of dance for many years. Upon receiving a B.F.A in dance from Tulane University, the N.O.C.C.A dance alumnus studied with Brazil’s premiere dance company Grupo Corpo. Following extensive dance travel throughout New York, and countries like Brazil, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, Donna returned to New Orleans to perform with her founding company Good Dance Since 1984 and served as resident choreographer for The Marigny Opera Ballet over the 2014-15 season. Good Dance Since 1984 regularly performs in festivals across the United States. She received the Big Easy Tribute to Classical Arts Award for Outstanding Choreography New Work (2013) and Outstanding Modern Dance Presentation (2014). Our belief is that dance starts with a feeling, ends with an action, and lives in the soul.

This two-day electrifying performance of contemporary and classical dance and performance from some of the best performers in New Orleans takes place November 7 and 8, 2015 at The First Presbyterian Church (5401 S. Claiborne Ave.).

General Admission Tickets: $20.00 available at the door or online. Performance times are Saturday, November 7 at 8:00pm and Sunday, November 8 at 8:00pm.
