Running gets cleaner at the ‘Bubble Run’ benefiting the Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society, October 18

Written by  Bubble Run
On October 18 at 9:00am, New Orleanians, clad in white t-shirts, will make their way through a special kind of “race” at Zephyr Field (6000 Airline Dr.) filled with…bubbles! (Come on, who doesn’t like bubbles?!)

If you’ve done a traditional 5K, you know they can be a bit lackluster. But the Bubble Run™ is like running through Willy Wonkas’ factory. In their white t-shirts, adults, kids and strollers run, walk, dance and play across 3 miles of absolute fun! Waves start every 3-5 minutes. Then, at each kilometer, participants will run through the Foam Bogs where there is enough colored foam to cover you from head to toe! So what if you should accidentally “taste the whimsey?” They don’t taste as great as they are fun, but not to worry. The foam is 100% safe.

Now, there are a few simple rules:
Rule 1: All levels of runners, walkers, twirlers, dancers and strollers are welcome to the Bubble Run™. We just ask this: walkers, strollers, twirlers, and dancers stay on the right, and runners on the left!
Rule 2: Wear white. That way, your appearance at the finish will be even more pronounced.
Rule 3: Enjoy being a kid again.

So what does living in a bubble feel like? Like a giant, effervescent party. The race itself is amazing. But once you cross the finish line, there’s still plenty of excitement and activity. Jam out and dance to the DJ’s, get some free swag and get ready to get a serious dose of extra foam! Then strut around like a peacock sporting your boss finisher’s status. Or perhaps you simply want to chill and take in the sight. Believe us, you’ve never seen anything like this. Whatever you do, don’t forget to shop for Bubble Run™ groovy merch in our race day store.

Not a competitive racer? No worries! There is nothing competitive about the Bubble Run other than seeing who has the most color on them after the race! There’s no timing, no timing clock and no placement awards. Just a great excuse to come out and have fun with your friends, family and kids while doing something healthy!

Proceeds from the Bubble Run will benefit the Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), a no-kill, non-profit rescue in Belle Chasse, LA whose mission is to rescue, shelter, and adopt out companion animals into responsible homes that will ensure they are happy and healthy for life. On any given day, PAWS cares for up to 150 dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens while they wait to find their forever family. PAWS operates on donations, and relies on the community for support through financial donations, in-kind donations, on-site volunteers, event volunteers, and fosters.

The Bubble Run has limited space in each city, so register NOW! Early-bird registration ($20) ends on September 23. After that, registration goes up to $50.

Hope to se you with your bubbles on!
