New Orleans Fashion Week model casting call to rock the runway, January 18, 24, 25

Written by  New Orleans Fashion Week
The search is on! New Orleans Fashion Week is looking for models to walk the runway for their fashion shows that take place during March of 2015. The model casting call takes place in Lafayette and Baton Rouge on January 18, Gulfport on January 24, and New Orleans on January 25.
New Orleans Fashion Week hosts a series of runway fashion shows and events geared towards emphasizing industry, business and networking opportunities for models, designers and fashion industry aficionados. The overall vision of New Orleans Fashion Week is to foster and support economic growth by raising attention to the talents of southern designers, beauty professionals, photographers and models. This vision combines fashion and beauty on the runway and fuses it with the creative spirit of New Orleans.  The event will run from March 21-28 with main events taking place at the New Orleans Board of Trade. For more information visit fashionweeknola.com.

New Orleans Fashion Week provides new opportunities for models by networking with designers and retailers throughout the gulf coast. A highlight for the models is “The Model Walk-Off” competition, which selects one model to receive a scouting trip to a major fashion city, such as Los Angeles. Taylor Hamric, a model discovered on New Orleans Fashion Week’s runway, was spotted by JRP owner and agent Craig Magleby and signed with Wilhelmina Models in New York. Tracee Dundas, founder of New Orleans Fashion Week, expresses her excitement with agency attendance: “Through my working with agents from around the country they look forward to coming to New Orleans Fashion Week, and I am excited that JRP agency recognizes New Orleans Fashion Week as well.”

Dundas, also owner of AboutFaces Modeling Agency, has personally placed models in Japan, Italy, and around the United States. She not only recognizes models from the New Orleans area but also in the Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and Gulfport areas. Through Dundas’ experience she recognizes that the models are instrumental to the success of designers presenting on the runway: “It has been rewarding not only to help launch the careers of emerging designers but also to launch the careers of models.”

With limitless opportunities, models will gain career building experience by rocking the runway for New Orleans Fashion Week.
