Good Dance Since 1984 presents ‘Deusa’ at 7th annual New Orleans Fringe Festival

Written by  Good Dance Since 1984
The worship of the female force animates the world. Good Dance Since 1984 will rip through several layers of the female deities associated with strength, passion, love, and full on craziness. Be prepared to witness a burst of eclectic women rule over war, destruction, and creation. This is a presentation of grace, strength, and athleticism, which will be both captivating and dynamic. Deusa will be a movement that fires energy through the personal accounts of amazing women: Eartha Kitt, Assata Shakur, and original choreography from 2-time Big Easy award-winner Donna Crump.

This four-day electrifying performance of contemporary and classical dance from some of the best performers in New Orleans takes place on Opening Night, November 19 at 7:00pm, and runs November 21-23, 2014 at the Marigny Opera House (725 St. Ferdinand St.).
Director/Choreographer Donna Crump is a native New Orleanian. Her extensive career has included engagements in New York, Brazil, Zimbabwe and South Africa, and her dance company regularly performs in festivals across the United States. She received the Big Easy Tribute to Classical Arts Award for Outstanding Choreography New Work (2013) and Outstanding Modern Dance Presentation (2014).

*Note: All Deusa performances will take place at Marigny Opera House. General Admission Tickets: $8 with $3 Fringe button available at the door or at www.nofringe.org.

Deusa performance times are as follows: Wednesday, November 19 (7:00pm); Friday, November 21 (11:00pm); Saturday, November 22 (9:00pm); Sunday, November 23 (7:00pm).
