NOMA celebrates 14th annual ‘LOVE in the Garden’ fundraiser in City Park’s Sculpture Garden, Sept. 22 Featured

Written by  IntheNOLA.com
If you haven’t realized that gardens and garden parties are where the love, laughs, and good times are with good food and great people, then maybe the New Orleans Museum of Art’s (NOMA) annual LOVE in the Garden fundraiser inside the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden in City Park will convince you.

Now, we know you’ve been to City Park and NOMA a million and one times, but the Sculpture Garden seems to be a hidden treasure for many New Orleanians. Located next to NOMA, the Sculpture Garden is “home to over sixty sculptures from artists from all over the world set in a stunning environment of meandering footpaths.” From the moment you walk into the garden, you are transported into another world…a world of huge oak trees, bridges and water, and of course sculptures galore. THIS is the setting for the 14th annual LOVE in the Garden. Food, music, and a little love under the oaks, stars, and sculptures.
LOVE in the Garden is a garden party right here in the Sculpture Garden," said NOMA. "This year, we have amazing entertainment with the Kinfolk Brss Band, BRW, and DJ Brice Nice as well as fantastic cuisine from some of New Orleans’ best restaurants, including Blue Oak BBQ, Doris Metropolitan, The Munch Factory, and MANY, many more!” In addition to the regular party, be sure to check out the late-night party starting at 9:00pm with food from Cocoa and Cream, Grita Tacos, Morning Call in the Oaks, Nola Snow Snowballs, and The Red Stove Food Truck.

This year's event will also include the LOVE Cocktail Challenge presented by Skyy Vodka. "LOVE in the Garden has celebrated numerous visual and culinary artists in New Orleans over the last few years. Again this year, we’ll toast the artistry of craft cocktails and their makers too! The LOVE Cocktail Challenge will feature celebrated craft bartenders in pursuit of the most creative interpretations of LOVE!" Sip on creations by Tyler Chauvin of Trèo, Megan Devine of Twelve Mile Limit, Alia Fawaz of Marcello’s, Paul Gustings of Tujague’s, Konrad Kantor of Cane and Table, Hadi Ktiri of The Sazerac Bar, Beth McCaskey of Kenton’s, Chris McMillian of Revel Cafe and Bar, Kimberly Patton-Bragg of Latitude 29, Daniel Victory of Victory, and Evan Wolf of Company Burger.

But Love in the Garden is not only about the eating, dancing, and drinking. “Each year, we honor several New Orleans artists as well. This year, we are honoring local artists Anita Cooke, Simon Gunning, Karoline Schleh, and Bob Snead. We celebrate and thank them for being a part of our art community and attendees are able to meet them.”

This year’s LOVE in the Garden promises to be a fantastic event in a wonderful setting. Come show your love at LOVE in the Garden!
